Today marks 5-year anniversary of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim! To celebrate, we'll be putting together a Skyrim photo book featuring screenshots from the community. Send us a Skyrim screenshot and 5 words in the dragon language to caption your entry for a chance to win!

Winning entries will be featured in a collection here in the Library. You don’t need to be a member to enter, but if you are there’s also a  120 gold prize for the winning entries.

Contest Entry Guidelines

Send your entry in an email to [email protected] with the subject line: Screenshot Contest – your name. All entries should contain the following:

• One or more screenshots as attachments
• A five-word caption in the dragon language with an English translation
• The name, pen name, username, or blog url you would like to be listed as the author of your entry

Your entry can be of any subject, whether it's a landscape, portrait, action scene, glitch, or funny moment. Your screenshot can also feature any mods you'd like so long as they aren't explicit (the Schlongs of Skyrim photobook will have to wait for another day). If your favorite Skyrim moment of the last 5 years is watching Thomas the Tank Engine set fire to helpless villagers, by all means share his blazing glory.

Please only send original screenshots. Entries should be screenshots that are captured in-game. Entries that are photos of TV screens or monitors will be disqualified unless the entry is done this way for artistic reasons. If so, please clarify in your submission.

Feel free to edit or enhance your entry so long as it is still recognizable as a screenshot. Your entry can include multiple screenshots if they will fit on a single page. You can choose to caption individual screenshots or provide one caption for all of them. If you would like your screenshots collaged in a particular way, please send all of your screenshots together as a single image. Please only send screenshots you want included in a single entry.

Captions must use the vocabulary found in the main dictionary. Entries that make use of vocabulary found in the Legacy Dictionary will not qualify for the contest. You are encouraged to make compound words and use the vocabulary as creatively as you see fit. Captions must feature 5 words. Your caption can but doesn't need to be a complete sentence. Simply pick which dragon words you think best embody your screenshot.

This contest will be open for entries until Monday, November 28th.  Amativ voth ahkrin!
