phrasing questions

I've read the lesson explaining how to phrase questions, but I find it unclear for some questions on where to place "why" or "how" or "what" (maybe I'm over-thinking it). Say, for example, the question "what do you think?": would both "fos lorot hi" and "hi lorot fos" be correct? And for "why did you do that?": would both "vahr hi drey tol" and "hi drey tol vahr" be correct? I don't know what to think of this.

"Fos lorot hi" and "Hi lorot fos" are both correct. You could also go for the full version of "Fos dreh hi lorot?"

For "Why did you do that?", you could simplify it to "Vahr drey hi tol?", "Why did you that?". Your version of "Hi drey tol vahr?" could also be correct.
