Dovah accent

I got to thinking: what should spoken dovahzul sound like? Not pronunciation or anything like that (I got that down), but more like accents (I know that there isn't very much room for accents due to rather set pronunciations of words/letters, but there is a bit of room). Is there a set best accent for Dovahzul? In the game, the Dov use a low, kinda guttural voice, so is this what we should all want to sound like when speaking Dovahzul? I, personally, think so (and that's how I choose to speak the language), but I'm not quite sure. And I'm not sure how many people agree with that.

Accents are made by your native tongues way to pronounce letters. As well known example in modern day german there is no TH sound so germans pronounce it like S or Z as this is the closest sound they know from their native tongue.

So as Paarthurnax suggested this would likely be a dovahzul accent. And...accents always sound kinda strange and ridicolous thats normal

Maybe? For me I cant speak deep so I dont know how I would do that but that sounds kinda cool. Ill just be speaking in a higher pitch I guess.

I try to speak Dovahzul in a lower register as well. Not everyone is going to be able to do that though, so I wouldn't consider that to be the "accent" part of Dovahzul. I'd say a Dovahzul "accent" might feature the following:

  • Exaggerated plosive consonants (b, d, g, p, t, k). "G" always hard.
  • Long vowels. "I will not run" in a Dovahzul accent might be pronounced like "ee wheel note rune."
  • Possible blurring of "l" and "r." In the above example "run" might sound closer "loon" than "rune."

All just hypothetical.

I'm gonna sound ridiculous while speaking in Dovahzul accent XD but for now I'm gonna rule out the deep voice thing.
