A question about emphasis and pronunciation.

If dovahii is her/his/its dragon and dovahi is my dragon... won't it be hard to tell one from another when spoken in person? I understand that dovahi is pronounced with a short 'i' sound but still in general conversation and even if one was talking in a rush it would be hard to make them sound different. Is there any other way besides just talking in a longhand, ie. dii dovah, ek dovah, etc.?

Most of it is context. The same as if I said, "I hit the ball with the bat," you know I mean the club, not the animal, but when I say, "The bat flew through the air," you know I mean the animal.

In general, the -i suffix goes unstressed while the suffix -ii may be stressed. For example, dovahi would be pronounced like do-VAH-hi, while dovahii would be pronounced like DO-vah-HII. It's a subtle difference, and as Loniizrath mentions, context is important.
