The Arabic "Q"

I recently started wandering something. What if the "Q" in Dovahzul is pronounced similarly to the "Q" in Arabic and other languages? (Basically, like a "K" but further back in the throat. More HERE) To me at least, it makes more sense than it being another letter that sounds like "K".

That makes sense to me as well. A confirmed difference between "Q" and "K" is that "Q" has a "w/u" sound after it. This little notation comes from the game's dialogue files:

Qostiid= prophecy (KWOWES-teed)

So a word like "Qahnaarin" is pronounced like "kwa-NAAR-in". A subtle difference, but an important distinction between "K" and "Q".

It still begs the question of why you would write it as "q" instead of "kw," but I guess the developers at Bethesda just couldn't get past their English alphabet being fully represented in the dragon language, usefulness yes or no.
