How to understand that it is time to renew the lawn?

My lawn has been 5 years, and this year it looked worse - mosses appeared, the grass grows unevenly, and the color became dim. Watering, mowing, feeding, but almost no result. Maybe it’s time to regrow? Or can you somehow revive the old grass? Do not want to completely rebuild the site, but want to return the old bright green appearance.

According to the description, your lawn is just tired - over time the grass loses density, and the soil becomes dense. A complete renewal is not always necessary. On the grow cycle there are great tips how to «rejuvenate» a lawn without full replacement. For example, you can aerate, add a thin layer of sand and sow some seeds of the right grade. After that - abundant watering and minimal stress for the herb. It is also worth checking the pH level of the soil - if it has shifted, the grass does not assimilate nutrients well. After such procedures, my lawn has become noticeably thicker and brighter in a couple of months.

The main thing is to choose the right seeds and not be lazy in the first weeks. When I planted the seeds, I tried not to walk on the lawn, and I watered every day with light rain. Also added some compost and mulch - the grass rose evenly.
