So, I'm new to Dovahzul, and I've been trying out translating from English to Davahzul. I wanted to know if I did it right; I feel like I may have cut too many things out.

I translated the text from the Cats of Skyrim book in the game (which you can find here: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Cats_of_Skyrim )

This is what I got:

Zu'u kosaan ferd wah daar diintaas nevonaar umaak ahrk pruust niil diistaak kaazze, kosaan unos. Mindin tikke do rovaantaas zu'u nunon korostaan vorpaal buldde do rinis vahk eylok.

This is good! It looks like you have all the grammar nailed down, and I think you left just enough to context. You could even  make things shorter by letting some nouns be their own plurals if you think the context is strong enough for that.

My main advice would be in regards to word choice. I like to use as many canon words as possible in my translations. It's not correct or incorrect to do so, but it can help make it more accessible to people who aren't as familiar with our dictionary here. For example, in "cold and unwelcome" you did a good job choosing "vofahdonus" since that's semi-canon. Since "cold" has a canon translation, "krah" might be a better alternative to "folus".

Awesome, thanks.

Yeah, I wan't worrying too much about focusing on canon words, but that makes sense.
