Link between Miraak and Dagoth Ur ?

Drem !

So, I've noticed something. I have not played Morrowind yet but I've seen some screenshots and something get my intention : the resemblance between the Ascended Sleeper and the Seekers. It seems obvious that the Seekers from Dragonborn are based on a mix between the Sleeper and the creatures from the Cthulhu Mythos :

But the most intriguing was the resemblance between Miraak's mask and Dagoth Ur's one. I've noticed those details (in red on the second line):

Another resemblance is about Miraak's robes and Sleeper's robes :

So, Dagoth Ur was in control on the Sleeper and the Dagoths. And Miraak was in control on the Seekers and the other Hermaeus creatures. We know that dragon priest's masks have a great power, but the Miraak's one is different from the others ; and it looks like the Dagoth's one.
Many items from Morrowind are also in Skyrim, but with another look.
That's why I ask the question : do you think the Miraak's mask may be the Dagoth's mask, or a "brother" of it ?
(I hope I'm clear in my deduction, with my made-in-france-english :'3 )

I'm sorry but I play both and I see no resemblance between Dagoth Urs mask and Miraaks.

Likely deliberate. To think clearly, the Dragonborn DLC is pretty clearly a way for the devs to return to Morrowind's weird, appealing feel. A bit of nostalgia, I guess.

They're both set in morrowind and all of the dragonborn dlc masks are the same (look at them)

Actually, Morrowind is on Vvardenfell were as dragonborn is on solstheim which was once an imperial settlement, as well as Miirak having an unique mask, compared to the other preists.

*Major nitpicking*

There were a few errors there, I assumed you'd rule miraak out of the priests masks. But isn't Vvardenfell in morrowind? And morrowind owns solstheim. It used to be skyrim until red mountain erupted.

Yes, but the island was mostly just the skaal before that and mirrak was once a priest of solstheim before what happened at the temple, And i Didnt say Vvardenfell was not in morrowind, i was just being specific, as well as solsthiem only recently (relatively) Coming under Dunmer control the Dunmeri influance that most likely went into Dagoth Urs' mask would be absent in Mirraks.

Yes, however it is not unheard of for dragon priests to move about

So, I checked the forum rules before I started typing this to make sure thread necromancy wasn't frowned upon here - and per rule seven it seems it is actually encouraged. So let's-a-go!

Basically, some people think the Sharmat may not be Dagoth Ur, but a being possesing him (http://bit.ly/1MEY5KR). Similarities between the philosphy espoused in Miraak's chant and Sharmat's endgame (http://bit.ly/1k833EL) could mean that at some point Sharmat came to posses/warp Miraak.

Now, I find the idea the Sharmat was some kind of "Older than Music" transamaranthine entity to be, well, ridiculous, but there are definite similarities between Dagoth's endgame of "I am the Godhead, everything will be an extension of me" and Miraak's chant, which sums up as "You are becoming me".
