I didn't kill him... I didn't even get asked to, but I would have left him alive either way. I love Pararthurnax, he didn't do anything to me.

I didn't kill him, becouse he helped you a lot with your voice and to defeat Alduin, and when you kill him, you'll make graybeards hate you.

I let him live for now.

After I get all the Words of Power from the Greybeards I plan on going back to finish the job so I can complete the Blades' quest line

No way I'm gonna kill Paarthurnax! He gives you perks with your shouts and he's just a pleasure to talk to. Besides, the Blades are useless now, they aren't even serving the Septims anymore. So I'm not gonna kill good ol' Paarthurnax to become a blade! Also, Dragon friend? Or useless honor-bound soldier?

That last sentence really sums the decision up. Nice choice of words.

He has done nothing that warrants his murder.  For that is what it would be.  His crimes are millenia old and if redemption is possible for any mortal then that standard should be applied to all, especially to a creature whose only true crime was that he acted in accordance with his nature.  Whether Paarthurnax can maintain his current methodology remains to be seen, but he deserves the chance to try as far as I'm conerned. 

Not to mention who truly gains by killing him? 

The Blades are a dead organization that are desperate for a purpose and they  naively believe that by killing dragons like the Akaviri of old and gaining a dragonborn, who they intend to dictate to, they'll somehow gain some prominence, or relevance again.  It is pathetic, if I could've killed that disrespectful Delphine I would've.

Paarthurnax is a good friend (and master)... just let Delphine go and try do it by herself.

Then return to her stupid temple (yet another thing that YOU got FOR the Blades) and slaughter them while they're in their stupid beds in their dumb circular room... So disgusting...

I suppose that's true... But ex-soldiers wishing for duty in their life are still dangerous... At least, when they are static warmongerers. No offense to Mirkrilaar, but when youve served, you've served. That's that. When you start ordering people to kill important figures, I draw the line.
