Drem, people of Thu'um! One day last week I happended to come across and read the first edition of the dragon-tongue introductory guide Learning Dovahzul that apparently was forged in this community. As a person with background in historical germanistics, as well as also having played my share of TES Skyrim, I became interested in this conlang you're working with here.

I decided to take on a little translation project to get to know the language better in practice, and indeed when looking into the matter, many of the facts presented in Learning Dovahzul turned out to be rather outdated. Also the booklet's somewhat liberal attitude towards non-canon in the language caused some problems, since I soon discovered myself to be more a friend of strict-ish canon-based use of the language than of the community-invented elements. Due to this I had to revise some of my work quite thoroughly a couple of times and lost some beautiful but unfortunately too non-canonical structures in the process.

But finally, I now present to you the theme song of the Nintendo Wii title Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Audi famam illius, translated into Dovahzul. I chose this particular piece since its thematics (and vocabulary!) are quite similar to those of the Dovak world. I have tried to fit the lyrics to the rythim of the official song as well as to convey as accurately as possible the original Latin meaning. I, however, did reserve myself certain artistic freedom regarding especially the word-derivation and compound-formation in Dovahzul. If that or something else (but not a systematically repeated grammatical error, I hope!) should provoke any constructive thoughts out of your head, by all means, do leave a comment for me!

I'm tired and I'm not sure if I'm using this thread right, but I did this like seven months ago before I really had a good grip on how the language worked - most of the words are literal, 1:1 translations - but whatever.
