Drem drem Drem is the second word in the Kyne's Peace Shout, which pacifies nearby animals. Its Words of Power can be found Ragnvald, Rannveig's Fast, and Shroud Hearth Barrow. Drem is a restraint of natural aggression. If war is evgir unslaad, the season unending, then drem is only a temporary respite. It's a withholding of the power and violence inherent to the Dov. The connotations behind drem are one of the main reasons I decided to use it in my name Thu'um. Peace through restraint is a concept that generally mirrors my mental state. Even though a more direct translation of "peace" as we know it in English would have suited my purposes, I believe the connotations add an extra layer to my name and convey my personality better. |
