Nothing is as it seems to be.

Let's break this down a bit to translate it better. We'll need to adjust the phrasing to use only canon words, since the Legacy dictionary is no longer widely in use. However, the canon dictionary is fairly limited, so we'll have to get creative with the phrasing in order to maintain the message you're trying to get across.

Nothing is as you see it.

This way, we can keep the same idea while using words that are compatible with the canon lexicon. The next step is to plug the Dovahzul words in there.

Nid los med hi koraav nii.

Now, the nii at the end is kind of superfluous, so we'll be dropping that from the final phrase.

Nid los med hi koraav.

There's your final sentence! Alternatively, we could go a completely different direction with it and use the phrase "Pah los lo," meaning "All is lies/deception." That's got a similar message, and it's a bit more direct, not to mention shorter.

Now, we have a couple ways of getting the runes. Here on the site, we can type a phrase in between square brackets to display it in Dovah runes. However, this has been making the Question Board glitch out a lot lately, so I won't try that here. Alternatively, you can use THIS TOOL to convert letters into Dovah runes.

Another option, which I'd personally recommend if you're getting a tattoo, is to go to the site's LIBRARY and click on the "Dragon Alphabet Font" link, which will automatically download a .tff file. Open the file and click on "Install," and the font will be available in programs like Microsoft Word. This way, you can view the letters in a much larger font than might otherwise be available on the site.

If you download the font, you're going to have to manually change a couple of the runes to make them correct. In the Dragon language, there are runes called "digraphs," which represent two letters put together into one rune. For example, there is a rune for "A" and a separate rune for "AA." When using the Dragon Language font, you'll need to type those digraphs by typing the corresponding number.

1=AA, 2=EI, 3=II, 4=AH, 5=UU, 6=UR, 7=IR, 8=OO, 9=EY

(Typing a 0 (zero) in the Dragon Language font will create the rune for C, which is not used in any Dragon Language words. Similarly, typing a C will give you the rune for K, as will typing K normally.)

In your phrase, "Nid los med hi koraav," you'll want to type "Nid los med hi kor1v." The 1 will become the rune for the AA in the actual phrase. For the alternate phrase, "Pah los lo," you'd type "P4 los lo." Likewise, the 4 will turn into the rune for AH.

I hope this helps you! If you want to, you could become a member of the site and show off your tattoo to us once you get it! We can also double check to make sure it's correct before you actually get the needle against your skin. We'll be here if you need anything else, too!
