You could take a note from the Song of the Dragonborn, which says ...wo los fron do ney dov ahrk fin reyliik do jul, "...who was kin to both wyrm and the races of man." Saying that someone is kin to both of their races would mean that they are half of each race, much like the Dovahkiin is, in a way, half mortal and half dov.
