I work in a library, and I've never thought of saying pelse- to describe books. I like it. Pel means "writing," and -se- means "of," so, for example, pelsepah means "writing-of-all," which could mean a dictionary or encyclopedia.

Side note, it seems there's still an issue with letters being replaced with numbers. That has to do with the script of the dragon rune transcription on this site. I've messaged the admin about this.
