different languages

I've been thinking, should'nt we have more languages to tranaslate to dovazhul? like german or chinese. what if someone from a non-english speaking country uses this site, they would be confused as why they can only use english to translate to dovazhul. but if we do have this system, then where is it?

The translator is very mechanical - translating sentences nearly word for word instead of as a whole. This mechanical translating works well enough because Dovahzul grammar is closest to English, making most grammatical translating unnecessary. Making a translator for a language that has an entirely different base than Dovahzul would require a great deal of effort, patience, code-writing and time. Something as mechanical as this translator relies on the fact that the grammar of the two languages are most similar.

@Orkar Isber,

English is the closest language to Dovahzul, not German. Even though both are germanic, German uses accusative case to mark the direct object from a transitive verb. Dovahzul was created by English speakers, and therefore resembles English the most through sentence forming, but retains basic germanic question phrasing.

Though you should be aware that german is the closest RL language there is, for english. English abandoned most of its grammar over the past 200 years which german didnt, but they are still very close.

Non germanic languages are a real problem as concepts become very difficult to translate. Languages inside the same language family usually have very similiar ideas about time, grammar, usage of tense, article, grammatical gender etc. If you were to translate that to say Mandarin (chinese is actually an umbrella term for 3 languages spoken in china not one) you would really need a looooot of time and effort getting the IDEA what you are saying translated cause word by word translations would be completly meaningless rubbish
