For the purpose of suffixes, "ey", "ah", "ir", and "ur" are considered consonants. So "my tale" would be "Teyi". "Our father" is "Bormahu" rather than "Bormahl".

"My spirit" would be "Ziil" because it ends with a vowel. "Your spirit" would also be "Ziil" because it ends with a vowel.

"Zaam" ends with a consonant, so "my slave" would be "Zaami". "Your slave" would be "Zaamiil", giving us "Zu'u ni zaamiil."

I discovered another piece of grammar here. I've also posted it in the opening post.

Contractions of "Wah"

I recently came across this interesting line of dialogue spoken by Sahloknir upon being revived:

Alduin, thuri! Boaan tiid vokriiha suleyksejun kruziik?

The dialogue file offers this translation:

Alduin, my king (overlord)! Has the time arrived (flown) to restore (unkill) your ancient dominion (power-of-king)?

The striking thing here is vokriiha, a verb with a hitherto unknown suffix. Oftentimes wah is cut from speech or writing when saying "to ____". I think what we're seeing here is an alternative in the form of a suffix/contraction of "wah vokrii" to make "vokriiha".

As of yet I'm not sure when this would be used as it doesn't seem to have much benefit over keeping wah in its place or dropping wah altogether, but there it is.

Interesting observation. I think a suffix for contraction of wah would be cool, if nothing else. And, hey, it's in the game so it's hard to reject.

Nice list, yaropolk. In a lot of words it's hard to tell if there's a suffix or if it's just a variation on the root word.

-iik

Is found in a lot of words, but also in wunduniik (traveler) and saviik (savior) so we have a pretty good idea that -iik can be "-er," "doer of something."

-aan is also used to mean the same thing. Fahluaan (gardener), tovitaan (seacher), and ronaan (archer).

-iid is also used to mean this. Kroniid (conquerer) and kriid (killer).

-maar is also used to mean this. Deinmaar (keeper).

-in is also used to mean this. Qahnaarin (vanquisher).

-aan

-aan also makes past participles and some past tense. See duaan (devoured), mahlaan (fallen), qahnaraan (vanquished).

Dukaankipraan, and goraan are probably unrelated. There are many words that end with -aan where it's probably not a suffix: ahlaan, bahlaan, dahmaan, faraan, kulaan, lahvraan, oblaan, rovaan, saraan, sonaan, and many more.

-aar

Like -aan it's a common word ending. The two consistent uses in your list are suleykaar (powerful), and hungaar (heroic). Both make adjectives, so -aar / -gaar could be an adjective suffix much like -kei in morokei.

I had the opinion that –aan, -aas, -aar., form adjectives form adjectives by gender. I read an interview with the developers of the language of dragons and it said how difficult it was with said Prince.

Kul - Son(s) (Сын(ы))

Kulaan - Prince (принц, князь)  that is, the king's son (королевский (сын) )

Kulaas - Princess (принцесса, княгиня) that is, the King's daughter (королевская (дочь) )

if so then: answers the questions: what. what. what?(какой. какая. какие?)

Onik - Wise ("мудр"ость) , Onikaan - Wisdom ("Мудр"ый)

Kip - Food (пища, "ед"а (по"ест"ÑŒ) ), Kipraan - Meal (по"ед"ающий)

"Dov" means "dragonkind" as in "the race of dragons." "Dovah" means "dragon" as in a single dragon. It's like the difference between "humanity / mankind" and "man."

So you could say "Alduin is a Dovah" or "Alduin is one of the Dov." Both of those are correct. "Alduin is a Dov" is incorrect. That would mean "Alduin is a dragonkind / race of dragons."

"Ah" is a common sound in the dragon language so I don't think the "Ah" in dovah is related to any of the other words listed.

"idea" (understands each in its own) - inner understanding of something ("su'um ark mora"). add -"ah" becomes the "word"(idea+ah), finished look ideas that can understand all ((all understand the same thing/equally)). then "word"(idea+ah) gets a prefix or suffix for different faces of "ideas" .

(I hope you will understand how I think. (my "idea"))
