Kaarthar decided he would team up with the immortals, considering he could fidnd them. He really wanted to speak to Paalus... Rhinking Paalus knows not about the kidnapping of Mogrul. And, he was hoping to see if he had uncovered anything about the death of Suylyath.
All this was clouding his mind. He hadn't even thought of visiting home to see his wife and child. When he realized he hadn't seen them in months, he decided to visit home.
His wife was a Nord named Sevarine (heh heh) and they had a child named Jovan. They were a happy little family, and Kaarthar told stories about his adventures. Jovan was about eight years old now, and Kaarthar hope he would never have to see what he has seen.
