As the trio went forward, they found themselves surrounded by Altmer soldiers, arranged in a square formation. They were merely escorts, of course, to protect their superiors in case things went south. When they reached the opened front gate, the wall lined with archers, they stepped forward and outside. Moving from the treeline was a party of seven armored Tsaesci, all in white armor. Six of them were surrounding the seventh, who had a more prominent headdress than the others. Their unarmored tails had scales that looked like they could stop a few blows from an elven sword before being pierced. Of course, not much would stop an Imperial Marine's rifle(d musket)...

The leader steps forward, speaking in its strange tongue. It sounds like the same language that scholars found in Akaviri ruins, except this involved more hissing.

<'I am Daimyo Tojo Tetsui of Ryōchi Hokumo. We pledge our swords to Emperor Yunibāsaru, and you have invaded our lands. Thus, you have invaded all of Akavir. Speak your business, outsider!'>

(Japanese names are introduced with the family name first, and Yunibāsaru is just the Emperor's public name, like a title. It translates to Universal.)

Emily and Zii stop there horse and cupped her hand around Zii's mouth to keep her quiet, keeping as quiet as they could 'Is...that a Tsaesci?...what are they doing here?'

(Yes, it is. I stated that in previous posts. Also, nobody reacted to the offshore naval engagement between rebels and Imperials, it seems. :P)

As the Imperial fleet destroys the last of the ships, one of the larger armed merchant ships sets itself on fire, ramming into a frigate and hitting its ammunition stores, causing the two to erupt in a massive explosion that makes it seem like dawn has arrived for a moment. The boom is rather loud once the soundwave hits their ears, as if a lightning strike had just hit about a mile off. The citizens are scared to death, a few of them on the verge of panic. Children cry for their parents, cry for their new home to not be destroyed again, only to be shushed by their parents in fear of being heard by the Imperial fleet.

Sauriil bowed, slightly, in respect, '<I am Sauriil Adorin, Immortal of Auri-El, one of the three protecters of the realms. The Altmer have lost their home to the Imperials. We were forced to settle here, in Akavir. I am sure you know of me, of course, as I have lived here for centuries. Now I beg of you, as a visitor and not an invader, to aid us in our war against those who persecute my entire race. I know that the Tsaesci have gone through such times before, and that you would understand. What say you?>'

The Daimyo frowns underneath his helmet, turning back to look at his samurai for a moment, before nodding at Sauril.

<"If you lie, you will all be destroyed. A messenger shall be sent out to Our Lord Emperor Yunibāsaru. Until his reply arrives, I would see your town.">

He then looks over Sauril's shoulder, squinting at something in the distance as their eyes are not as advanced as those of men, mer, or beastfolk.

<"What is that?"> He nods to bright lights and burning ships out a ways at sea.
